As my mom gets a little farther in her quest to healing stage 4 breast cancer everything in her life changes. From her finances to her relationships, to her emotions everything is shifting and above all her perception is shifting. Today I interviwed her and she told me something that you wouldn't expect a cancer "victim" to say and the words struck me so hard that I don't know if I will ever be able to say the word cancer in the same sentence as victim ever again.

"Cancer has been the best and healthiest thing that has ever happened in my life" are the words that stumbled out of her mouth as she sat there in gratitude. How in the world can someone physically suffering from a disease that has broken her life down to the core say something like that! and mean it?? This gratitude seemed a bit out of place given the circumstances so out of justified curiosity I probed........
